Until recently there was speculation that the rumored EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR would not shoot 4K video, but yesterday an unnamed source informed Canon Rumors that Canon plans to release a 5D camera with 4K video capabilities. The source also noted that the 5D4 will not be announced before the EOS-1D X Mark II begins shipping in April. It was previously believed Canon would unveil the next-generation 5D camera at Nab 2016, which runs from April 16 to April 21.
Rumored specs for the EOS 5D Mark IV are sparse at this time. It is expected to at least include a 28MP sensor and 61 point AF. The Mark IV is also rumored to feature a more lightweight design than its predecessor, the 5D Mark III. Other rumored specs include a DIGIC 6+ processor, 9fps, built-in GPS and Wifi and touchscreen capabilities.
