Phantom 4 announced, pre-order today

DJI today unveiled its new drone the Phantom 4 in New York City. Pre-orders for the self-piloting drone are scheduled to hit sometime today, but the page has not been updated at this time. We will update this link when it the Phantom 4 page is live.

DJI Phantom 4

The Phantom 4 is available for pre-order for $1399. It is estimated to start shipping around March 15th. The drone features an "Obstacle Sensing System" which allows the Phantom 4 to spot objects and fly around them. The next-generation Phantom 4 also includes the ability to track moving subjects automatically using DJI's ActiveTrack technology, 28 minutes of flying time on one charge and a maximum speed of 44mph (72kmh).

DJI Phantom 4 Pre-Order/Availability Tracker Launches

Drone manufacturer DJI has already confirmed that its Phantom 4 will be announced on March 1st. The drone maker released a teaser video of the Phantom to YouTube on Feb 24th. The video entitled "Return To Your Senses" features a few up close glances of the next-generation drone, but it didn't reveal any details or specifications. Recent rumors have suggested that the new Phantom will ship with improved video capabilities, such as a higher resolution camera with slow motion and an updated sensor. No matter what new bells and whistles the Phantom 4 includes, the next-generation device is sure to be one of this year's most sought after drones to hit the market. Here's how you can receive pre-order email or mobile phone notifications and be the first person on your block to order a Phantom 4.

DJI Phantom 4

The product tracking website has launched its Phantom 4 tracker. You can receive free desktop, email or even iOS Notifications (on your iPhone, iPad, etc) alerts by visiting the site and signing up for a free account. It only requires an email and 30 seconds of your time. Once you have signed up and confirmed your free account, navigate to the Phantom 4 tracker and click the Follow button. From here you can select to receive desktop alerts, email alerts or iOS push notifications when the Phantom 4 is available for pre-order. You will need to download the free iOS app to receive push notifications to your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Will Shoot 4K Video

Until recently there was speculation that the rumored EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR would not shoot 4K video, but yesterday an unnamed source informed Canon Rumors that Canon plans to release a 5D camera with 4K video capabilities. The source also noted that the 5D4 will not be announced before the EOS-1D X Mark II begins shipping in April. It was previously believed Canon would unveil the next-generation 5D camera at Nab 2016, which runs from April 16 to April 21.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

Rumored specs for the EOS 5D Mark IV are sparse at this time. It is expected to at least include a 28MP sensor and 61 point AF. The Mark IV is also rumored to feature a more lightweight design than its predecessor, the 5D Mark III. Other rumored specs include a DIGIC 6+ processor, 9fps, built-in GPS and Wifi and touchscreen capabilities.

Nikon D810 DSLR Pre-Orders Now Available

Nikon today announced the successor to the D800 and D8ooE, the D810 DSLR and D810 Filmmakers Kit. The new high resolution DSLR is equipped with a 36.3MP FX-format CMOS sensor sans Optical Low Pass Filter and an EXPEED 4 Image Processor for improved speed. The D810 is capable of shooting 5 fps in FX format, 7 fps in DX format and recording full HD 1080p video in 24, 30 and 60 fps.

The camera can now simultaneously record to memory cards and to an external recorder, plus it can shoot up to 40 minutes of video on one charge. The maximum number of images per sequence is now 9,999 compared to 999, and it ships with a built-in stereo microphone as well as jacks for external microphone and headphones.

The lens barrel is designed to resist dust and moisture, and it features a HT-EBC multi-layer coating for reducing ghosting and flare. Other features include an enhanced optical image stabilization system, an inner focusing system and a linear AF motor with a max AF speed of just 0.1 seconds.
