The Sony NEX-VG900 interchangeable lens camcorder is now available for pre-order. Sony announced the NEX-VG900 along with the NEX-VG30 at Photokina 2012. The NEX-VG900 is the first Sony Handycam camcorder to feature a 35mm sensor. The larger CMOS sensor allows the VG900 to deliver a more cinema-like look that other standard camcorders can't provide. The NEX-VG900 can also capture full-frame, 24 megapixel still photos, with RAW format support, and is compatible with Sony A-Mount lenses.

Other features and specs include: A 2359K dot Tru-Finder OLED viewfinder, a quad capsule microphone with 5.1 sound, full manual control, the ability to record Full 1080 HD uncompressed clean-screen video files, and a free download of Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum.

Samsung's $500 Smart EX2F Camera Now Available

Samsung has announced the EX2F SMART camera is now available in stores and through online Samsung retailers. The affordable EX2F compact camera features a 3-inch AMOLED display, a 12.4-megapixel CMOS sensor and a f/1.4-2.7 (24-79mm) lens. The camera's Dual Image Stabilization ensures your 12.4MP pictures won't come out burred or distorted, and its f/1.4 24mm wide-angle lens, with 11 elements in nine groups, promises better image quality and zoom ratio. The EX2F can also record 1080p Full HD at 30 frames per second.

Other EX2F features include: Dual Capture for snapping still pictures while recording full HD video, and Wireless Smart Camera Technology for quick cloud storage and easy photo sharing via social networking sites such as Facebook or Picasa. The lightweight body and sleek design of the EX2F also makes it easy to carry anywhere for capturing spontaneous moments.

Lecia Announces V-Lux 4 Compact Camera for Wildlife and Sports Enthusiast

Lecia has announced the V-Lux 4 digital compact camera with constant F2.8 lens and high-resolution electronic viewfinder. Lecia promises the constant maximum aperture of f2.8 makes it possible to capture "pin-sharp images at greater distances even under unfavorable lighting conditions." The camera's maximum ISO sensitivity of 6400 and 12-megapixel CMOS sensor also ensures better quality images in extreme photographic situations, including unfavorable lighting conditions.

The V-Lux 4 delivers up to 12 frames per second at full resolution and can record full HD video in AVCHD format with 1920 × 1080 pixels and 60 full frames per second. Its compact and lightweight design plus integrated handgrip and simple to use controls makes it a viable choice for sport, travel, or wildlife photographers.

Fujifilm Officially Announces Pocket-Sized XF1

Fujifilm has officially announced the XF1 pocket-sized digital camera, not the "XP1" like we originally reported. The XF1 joins the X-E1 as the newest addition to Fuji's retro-looking X-series lineup. The compact camera features a retro body, a newly-developed f/1.8 FUJINON lens with a manual 4× optical zoom, 2/3-inch EXR-CMOS sensor and EXR Processor.

Fuji is touting the XF1 as a high-quality, compact backup for more advanced photographers. Especially those who enjoy Fuji's other X-series cameras such as the X-Pro1, X100, X10, and X-S1. Fuji promises the XF1 and f/1.8 lens delivers stunning results in low light, and its EXR-CMOS sensor and EXR processor offers fast Auto Focus speeds even in dark scenes. The XF1 also features Optical Image Stabilization, full manual controls, a 3.0-inch/460K dot premium clear LCD monitor with tempered glass for scratch protection, and Full HD movie recording.

Canon has announced the EOS 6D for "serious photography enthusiasts". According to Canon, the EOS 6D is the "world's lightest DSLR to feature a full-frame CMOS sensor." The 6D employs an 11-point autofocus system, and is powered by a DIGIC 5+ image processor. The 6D is also Canon's first EOS model to include GPS and Wi-Fi, for location tagging or importing photos to other devices.

The Canon EOS 6D features a 20.2MP full-frame sensor, 3.0-inch high resolution LCD, extended ISO range of 50-102400, 4.5 full resolution FPS, full HD video recording up to 1080/30p, and 14-Bit A/D conversion. Canon says the 6D's superior low-light performance is better than previous models, and its compact, robust and lightweight design makes it the perfect DSLR for portrait and landscape photographers to take on the road.

Panasonic Lumix GH3 Video Accidently Leaked?

A video for Panasonic's new micro four thirds camera, the Lumix GH3, was uploaded and quickly removed from the company's official YouTube page on Friday. Engadget got a look at the video before it was pulled.

According to Engadget, the video revealed a few key specs like a 16-megapixel sensor and a new version of Panny's Venus Engine processor. The Lumix GH3 features a splash- and dust-proof magnesium alloy build, and a a flip-out LCD, which according to Engadget, "looks much the same as the GH2's".

Nikon has announced the long-awaited D600 full frame camera. The D600 is the most compact, lightweight DSLR on the market. It features a newly developed 24.3 MP FX-format CMOS sensor, an ultra-fast EXPEED 3 image processor, noise-free shooting from ISO 100 to 6400 (expandable down to 50 and up to 25,600 for extreme lighting situation) and 5.5 fps of continuous shooting.

The 39 point AF system is perfect for a wide variety of shooting situations. The system features nine cross type sensors for maximum accuracy, and a variety of modes such as single point, continuous AF, Dynamic AF or 3D tracking. The D600 also allows users to record Full HD at varying frame rates and resolutions including 1080p video at 30, 25 or 24p, and 720p video at 60, 50 and 30p. Other features include: a 3.2-inch 921K dot LCD screen with automatic brightness control, and an optional WU-1b Wireless Adapter. The D600 is compatible with all NIKKOR lenses, FX- and DX-formats alike.

Pre-orders are open for the newly announced Sony Alpha NEX-6 mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. Sony promises the NEX-6 will revolutionize the world of compact cameras by delivering a full DSLR experience. The newest addition to Sony's E-mount camera line-up includes a Fast Hybrid AF, Wi-Fi capabilities, a 16.1MP Exmor APS-C Size CMOS sensor, and the same high-resolution XGA OLED Tru-Finder found on the the flagship NEX-7 model.

The camera's Wi-Fi capabilities make it compatible with Sony's PlayMemories camera apps, and allows users to easily upload images to a smartphone or social media sites like Facebook. The Fast Hybrid Autofocus, normally only found on DSLRs, uses phase detection to detect a subject’s distance and direction for quick autofocus. The NEX-6 also features Quick Navi control, a Multi-Interface Shoe for use with Sony flashes and Handycam accessories, plus it accepts Alpha NEX E-mount lenses.

Online retailers are accepting pre-orders for the previously leaked Sony NEX-VG30 camcorder with Sony 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 zoom lens. The full-frame interchangeable lens camcorder can capture high-resolution, 16MP RAW and JPEG still photos at 6fps, and is able to shoot cinematic video with a shallow depth of field and clear low-noise. The NEX-VG30 features a power zoom seesaw lever for a smooth manual zoom, a Tru-Finder OLED electronic viewfinder with 2,359,000 dot resolution, and the Sony E-Mount for the addition of Sony E-Mount lenses.

The 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Power Zoom lens features silent auto-focus, optical image stabilization and an 11x zoom ratio. Sony Launches World’s First Full-Frame Compact Digital Camera [Cyber-shot RX1]

Sony has officially announced the compact Cyber-shot RX1 camera with 35mm full-frame image sensor and wide aperture f/2 lens. The RX1 brings DSLR quality imaging technology to the compact camera world. As rumored, the RX1 can capture 24MP JPEG or RAW stills and shoot Full HD 1080p video at 24 frames per second. It features a fixed Carl Zeiss f/2.0 lens with 9 iris blades, for shallow depth of field with attractive bokeh. The lens is also coated to reduce ghost and flare.

The high speed AF and advanced BIONZ processor allows for fast 0.13 second autofocus, and the camera's ISO range of 100 – 25600 allows the camera to perform in near-dark conditions without a flash. The Cyber-shot RX1 also features DSLR-like manual control modes, a 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD Display with 1,229k dot resolution and WhiteMagic technology for shooting in bright daylight, built in pop up flash, and full-resolution burst shooting at up to five frames per second.
