Canon 1D X Release Date Could Be Delayed
Canon fans may have to wait longer than expected for the EOS 1D X to start shipping. The DSLR was initially expected in late March, but Northlight Images has heard otherwise. The release date for the 1D X could be pushed forward to April or even May.

Canon is said to be working on improving the 1D X firmware. According to reports, recent production problems in Asia are not the reason for the delay in shipping. Major US retailers have not yet offered the 1D X for pre-order, with pricing expected to be in the $6,800 range and an unknown release date.
Severe flooding was likely to blame for a delay in the Nikon D800 announcement. When it comes to the Canon 1D X, this full-frame DSLR will carry a new 18 megapixel sensor and dual DIGIC 5+ image processors. Aside from capturing photos at up to 14 frames per second, the 1D X features several improvements centered on video recording.
Dual UMDA-7 CF card slots and HDMI are included, as well as built-in gigabit ethernet. A brand new 61-point auto focus system will complement redesigned mirror and shutter mechanisms in the 1D X. Hopefully Canon will let everyone waiting for this camera body know when release is imminent. Until then stay tuned for more information.
