Photo of Panasonic Lumix GF5 Leaks
Now thanks to a post on the image sharing app Instagram, the world has its first glimpse of the upcoming Panasonic Lumix GF5. The GF5 will be the next in Panasonic's mirrorless interchangeable lens lineup, succeeding the current GF3 model.

Specifications have been trickling out however this latest leak is thanks to Hong Kong celebrity Angelababy, who according to Engadget is a Panasonic brand ambassador. The image was uploaded by her and subsequently removed.
The GF5 has a strong family resemblance, mimicking the form factor of the GF3. The grip appears much like that used on the GX1. Engadget points out that like many Japanese companies, Panasonic will skip the number 4 as it updates the line since this is considered an unlucky number. The lens attached to the GF5 body is the current Lumix G Vario 14-42mm f/3.5 selling for around $120.
When it comes to what's inside the GF5, the camera is expected to bring an improved signal to noise ratio providing an ISO equivalent sensitivity up to 12,800. The Micro Four Thirds entry will have a 12 megapixel image sensor and a 920k dot touch screen on the back. Auto focus speeds are said to be quick at 0.09 seconds. Like the current GF3, the new camera appears to have a built-in pop up flash.
The Panasonic GF3 with the kit lens mentioned above can be found for around $450 currently. The GF5 will kick things up a notch in the low light arena and provide an updated touch interface with other improvements. As the product has not been officially announced yet, Lumix watchers are still waiting on price and release date information.
