Pre-Order the Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM and EF 35mm f/2 IS USM Lenses
Canon has expanded the EF lens series with the addition of two new lenses. Both lenses are geared towards professionals, and are ideal for use alongside popular DSLRs like the EOS 6D. The Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM eliminates the need for photographers to carry a dedicated macro lens due to its new macro setting which offers an an impressive 0.7x magnification. It features two aspherical elements alongside two Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lenses, and a newly designed IS system, which Canon promises delivers "blur-free images throughout the zoom range". The EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM will be available in mid-December for a SRRP of $1499.
The new EF 35mm f/2 IS USM is Canon’s first-ever 35mm prime to feature optical Image Stabilizer technology. It features a lightweight, compact body, a bright, fixed f/2 aperture, and its optical IS offers users a 4-stop light advantage for capturing blur-free images in low light situations. The EF 35mm f/2 IS USM lens will be available in early December for $849.99.
Canon also announced a newly-designed lens cap with a center-pinch mechanism. The new mechanism allows users to quickly remove and replace the cap while shooting. The new lens caps will begin shipping with all new Canon lenses starting next year.Tag: Canon, Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM, Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM, Canon EF Series, Canon Lenses, Lenses
