Leica Reveals the V-Lux 3 Superzoom

Leica has introduced the latest in its stylish line of fixed-lens cameras, the V-Lux 3. This digital camera has all of the polish and ergonomics of a Leica SLR, while it packs Panasonic Lumix internals. In fact, the V-Lux 3 shares the same specifications as Panasonic's FZ150. The sensor is a newly developed 1/2.3-inch CMOS with 12.1 effective megapixels.

Leica V-Lux 3 Announcement

This image sensor along with a quad-core image processor means the V-Lux 3 is capable of shooting 12 frames per second in manual focus mode, and up to 5.5 frames per second using autofocus. Contrast detection autofocus can now lock in just 0.1 second, faster than the previous V-Lux 2, with improved focus tracking as well.

Fujifilm X-S1 Bridge Features 26x Superzoom

Is that your Fujifilm X-S1 camera or are you just happy to see me? The X-S1 bridge camera is now official, with Fujifilm announcing a whopping 26x superzoom Fujinon f/2.8-5.6 lens. That's a wide angle 24-624mm lens (at 35mm equivalent) for those keeping track. The lens is not interchangeable, but as expected the X-S1 is loaded with DSLR-like features.

Fujifilm X-S1 24x zoom

First off, the design itself screams SLR, complete with metal external dials and a rubberized exterior grip. The back features a 0.47 inch electronic viewfinder with 1.44 million pixels and a 3 inch, 460k pixel tiltable LCD display. With 17 glass elements, the Fujinon lens even has a macro mode that takes photos as close as 0.4 inches away.
