Samsung NX Series

X-Cap Prototype Automatically Protects Interchangeable Lenses

A Taiwan-designed lens cap for mirrorless cameras is creating quite a buzz after Engadget Chinese previewed the item earlier this week. The X-Cap protects DSLR's and other interchangable-lens cameras by automatically capping off your lens when you forget.

Auto-Closing Lens Cap for Mirrorless Cameras

Unlike compact cameras which cap off their lenses when retracted, some interchangeable-lenses do not. The X-Cap automatically closes to protect your lens when the front element retracts. This is the perfect replacement for removable lens caps without an auto-opening trapdoor like seen on most higher-end point-and-shoots these days. The X-Cap protects the delicate glass when the camera is not in use, and is a great tool for photographers who frequently forget to cap their lenses.
