Pre-orders for the newly announced Nikon D610 are now being accepted. Nikon's latest FX-format HD-SLR couples a 24.3MP CMOS sensor and EXPEED 3 image processor to deliver high-resolution low-noise images with amazing dynamic range and precise color. The compact camera features a 39-Point AF System, a new and improved Automatic White Balance (AWB), and a new Quiet Continuous Shutter Mode.

It is a standard focal length premium lens which was developed for full-format DSLR camera sensors.

The Otus features a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, a floating element design with 12 elements in 10 groups, and an all-metal focusing mechanism with an extended rotation angle. It was given the Latin name "Otus" for owl because of its "impressive degree of detail even in low light situations," according to Zeiss.

Panasonic GM1: World's Smallest MFT Camera?

Little is known about the upcoming Panasonic GM1, however the camera is set to make waves when it's announced later this month. The new Lumix-branded Micro Four Thirds (MFT) interchangeable lens camera (ILC) will break new ground on not one, but two fronts when released.

It will also be the first camera of its kind to feature a fully electronic shutter. The smallest MFT ILC currently on the market is the Pentax Q7, however the sensor on this model is significantly smaller (7.6 mm x 5.7 mm).

Limited stock of the Fujifilm X100S is now available from B&H. The X100S improves upon Fuji's previously released X100 with the addition of a quick Intelligent Hybrid AF, which is capable to obtaining a clear focus in as little as 0.08 seconds.

The X100S is equipped with a 16MP APS-C-sized X-Trans CMOS II sensor, an EXR Processor II image processor, a 2.8" 460k-dot LCD monitor and a built-in 23mm f/2 fixed focal length lens. It features a native sensitivity range from ISO 200-6400, and it is capable of shooting full HD video at 60fps. Other features include several Film Simulation modes, several advanced filters and a Hybrid Viewfinder with both optical and electronic viewing tools.

Pre-Order the Smaller and Lighter GoPro HERO3+

Pre-orders are now being accepted for GoPro's new HERO3+ cameras. The HERO3+ Black Edition is 20% smaller and lighter than the other GoPro models. It also boasts an improved lens, longer battery life and better Wi-Fi for quicker transfer speeds, and faster video streaming to mobile devices. Other upgrades include a new video mode called SuperView and Auto Low Light mode, which automatically adjusts frame rate for varying lighting conditions.

The HERO3+ Silver Edition is equipped with a faster processor (2x faster than the HERO3: Silver Edition, according to GoPro) that enables it to capture 1080p video at 60fps, and 720 at 120 fps. It is also 15% smaller and lighter than its predecessor, and features 4x faster Wi-Fi.

Nikon Shows Off Rugged AW1 Interchangeable Lens Camera

The Nikon 1 lineup has a new, rugged addition to its ranks ready to take on the great outdoors. The AW1 is a digital interchangeable lens camera that's shockproof, freezeproof and waterproof, with similar specs to the Nikon 1 J3. Nikon claims the AW1 is the "world's first" and will offer two equally rugged lenses to match, including an 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom and a 10mm f/2.8 wide angle.

The extreme capabilities of the Nikon 1 AW1 include shock protection for drops from up to 6.6 feet and waterproofing down to 49 feet underwater. Operating temps go as low as 14 degrees fahrenheit. Besides all this, the AW1 sports several adventure-specific features such as built-in GPS, compass, depth gauge, altimeter, and horizon indicator. The AW1 even has a waterproof pop-up flash.

Fuji X-A1 Interchangeable Lens Camera Press Release Leaked

The Czech camera retailer Fotoskoda prematurely posted the specs for Fujifilm's X-A1 interchangeable lens camera. The post has since been removed, but not before Photo Rumors nabbed the leaked images and press release.

The Fujifilm X-A1 is a lightweight and compact interchangeable lens camera with a 16MP APS-C EXR CMOS sensor. It is equipped with a 3-inch tilting LCD, on-board Wi-Fi, a EXR Processor II, and it features a "very fast response time," according to the translated press release. The leak also mentions that the X-A1 will be available in "black, blue and red."

Sony has officially announced its smartphone lens-style cameras for Apple and Android devices. The new lens cameras allows you to capture DSLR-quality pictures from your iOS or Android smartphone by connecting to your device via Wi-Fi/NFC.

The Sony DSC-QX10 adds an 18.2MP sensor to your iPhone or Android handset, and allows you to access all its features through your device's display and the Sony PlayMemories Mobile app. The DSC-QX10 can also be used as its own separate camera, and features Optical SteadyShot image stabilization for capturing high quaility images or 1080/30p HD video with minimal blur.

Samsung Galaxy NX Coming in October for $1,600

The Samsung Galaxy NX will arrive at U.S. retailers this October. The first interchangeable-lens camera with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean will be available for $1,599.99 (body-only) or as a kit with an 18-55mm lens for $1,699.99.

Other features include Wi-Fi/3G/4G connectivity, a 4.8" HD 921k-Dot LCD touchscreen monitor and Full HD 1080p video recording at 30 fps. Samsung's new Galaxy camera is also compatible with any lens in the NX lineup.
