New Ricoh CX6 Features Quick Hybrid AF

A new Ricoh compact digital camera is on its way in December. The CX6 improves upon the previous CX5 in a variety of ways, including ramping up its autofocus speed to a quick 0.1 seconds. AF continuous shooting (up to 3 fps) has been added to the CX6 as well. This 10 megapixel camera is small enough to fit in a pocket at just 0.91 inches at its thinnest point, measuring 4.1 inches wide and 2.3 inches tall.

Ricoh has also improved the 1.23 million-dot resolution LCD screen, making the display 1.7 times brighter than the previous model. This Sony WhiteMagic screen will come in handy when previewing images outdoors in bright sunlight. When it comes to the lens, the CX6 offers a wide angle 28-300mm zoom (35mm equivalent).

Ricoh Reveals CX5 Compact With Quick AF

Ricoh may be known for its copiers and office equipment, but today it revealed the latest in its CX line of compact digital cameras with some impressive specs. The CX5 features Ricoh's Hybrid AF, which combines a normal contrast detection autofocus system with a distance sensor to achieve focus in as little as 2/10 of a second. This high-speed AF works regardless of focal length.
